Consider viewing an idea as a point of singularity. When an idea is conveyed, it is either accepted or renounced. There may be a gray area, but depending on beliefs in other ideas, the gravitation of the idea will draw towards acceptance or the belief in other ideas will draw to its renunciation. Now, if you start believing an idea, by being drawn to it, the point of singularity has gained mass. It thus becomes more dense. Clumping with belief, it gains more gravitational attraction. Hence, more probability of other people's belief in the idea. The more belief in the idea, the stronger the gravitational force in said idea. As the masses start accepting the idea, the point of singularity remains; whether it is a true or false idea.
Let's make a hypothetical example, where the idea that the sky is red is propagated in a very ill-informed society, different from our world. Despite its untruth, a person believes it for whatever reason. Next, someone who is close to that person believes it to be valid due to his closeness to his friend, and also believes the sky is red. This makes it easier for others to believe so, simply due to the fact that others believe it, and not believing it will make him an outcast. And being an outcast due to a belief is extremely dangerous. A danger that may lead to exile, hatred, or worse, abuse.
The singularity of ideas are therefore the decisive point of attraction to a belief; not the society believing in it. In today's world, it may be commonly viewed that something is true due to the majority of people's belief in it. This is complete fallacy. What is independent to ourselves need not to be affirmed by society. What is in our hearts should resonate on the outside, but if it doesn't, it should be ignored. During the times of early America when slavery existed, making people of a different skin color than your own as your property because of belief in your skin color's superiority was seen as normal. Today, that is majorly seen as a great evil. Hatred, fear, anger, and evils of man may be solely followed because the masses do it; despite the validity of the idea.
And this brings me to the final point. The point of singularity, that is. An idea is viewed by me as a point of singularity, because possibly it is without without mass or time. It has no dimensions or shape. I believe the same goes for the Truth; which is another topic in itself. If the idea is indeed true, it is a point of singularity; and will transmute into truth and the highest reality. If it is false, the center of gravity will not be true and will be an illusion, a mirage, and a deception that leads to chaos. It will disperse and deceive you until you are left in darkness. And since you will be left lost in the dark, you will be blind, wandering about trying to reach for that light once again, going to and fro to your desires, trying to find the right idea that will lead you back to the truth.
But that Truth is always with you, and will never abandon nor deceive you.
And God knows best.
