Regardless of how many people may believe or feign believe an idea, truth is not subject to numbers. In other words, it matters not how many people believe that smoking weed should be legalized, or that dark skinned humans are rightly property of light skinned humans, or that America is the best of the best and beats the rest.
If I haven't logically broken it down for you, think of it this way: if people believe something is true based solely on that 90% of people believe it to be true, then let's imagine a world where killing is believed to be beneficial in majority. That wouldn't fly in our world, would it? Conversely, let's imagine a world (much like ours, *hint hint*) that drugs are majorly seen as a beneficial thing, despite that science, religion, and a moralistic person say otherwise. My question to you is, do you believe the millions of people who are okay with it? (That is smoking drugs or killing) Or do you believe the facts stated in science, religion, and goodness?
Let's go even deeper down the rabbit hole. If we look at the major religion of the world today, it is Christianity. In Christianity, it states consumption of alcohol, drugs (if I'm correct), premarital fornication, and idolatry (the biggest) are sins. Now let's look at the stats. The majority of the world, as I perceive, also do all these things. And majority of the world, as I perceive, believe these thins to be outright okay. There is a stymie. Why would people hold onto a belief which is in complete condradiction to their...belief...??
The Cycle of Insanity. That's what I call it, at least. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results. This is also the same definition as stupidity. Look it up in the dictionary. This cycle, as I call it, is where people do something that is nonsensical, but expect something good out of it. It's like lighting your garden on fire in hopes it will grow. Nothing but a spiral of negativity.
As people don't change, unfortunately, their circumstances do. Everyday, doing drugs. Everyday, abusing others. Everyday, going to mundane work. 9-5, eat, sleep, work; repeat. This is why robots don't go insane. Because they're robots. They're programmed. We as humans aren't meant to be programmed. We're meant to think...like humans ought to.
Thus, as what is in their hearts never change, never do their circumstance; except into a spiral of negativity. This is why I believe many people claim their "life is spiraling out of control." They have no control over it because they've surrendered themselves to their own desires! Whether it's marijuana, drinking, binge-eating, music, the T.V., pills, depression, anxiety...they look nowhere beyond except a few feet in front of them.
Now let's revisit the "spiral of silence". Now that I've given you an introduction of the reality of the world you reside in, think about what I said. Do you believe it now? So, if majority of the world believes in drug acceptance, homosexuality, and sinfulness in general, that shines upon a pretty dark light, doesn't it...? Now that you look at it, it seems majority, is actually, majorly, wrong.
Finally, I arrive at my main point. That is that cycle of insanity that is in close proximity. The one that which is perceptive in the country you reside in, the environment you stay in, and the very life you live in.
Tell me, is there something that happens over and over and over again, and you still are trying to find a solution for it? Whether around you, next to you, or even by you? A recurring nightmare, a habit, an addiction. A reality that you wish to escape, only to be brought right back into it.
Maybe it's that you keep getting rejected by girls. Maybe it's that you keep getting into fights with your family. Maybe it's that you keep getting bullied. Maybe it's that you keep getting depressed. Maybe it's that you keep indulging into addiction.
And the defining point here, is that, not only does it keep happening, but it keeps getting worse. You say, this is the last time it will happen. You say, I'll see to it that I won't experience it again. You say, I'm done. Every time, over and over again, deeper and deeper you dig yourself into a self-perpetuated hole.
And the worst part of it all...is that you know deep inside that this...this problem, this situation, this circumstance...is none other than your fault. Yes, you're the reason you got bullied, your the reason you cut yourself, your the very reason you pop those pills nightly. Not anyone else's; you know that, don't you?
I apologize. You may be facing a shadow so dark deep within your subciousness now that you're afraid to find the light. A cave that is abandoned of hope because you despair that you will never rise above into the light of day again.
I'm here to dispel you of that idea.
Within every darkness, there is light. From putridity to purity, from tribulation to truth, from suffering to success, from lies to light. Look not beyond what your eyes perceive, listen not beyond what your ears believe, touch not beyond what your fingers receive. Truth lies in wait within."
There is light. Some perceive it to be at the end of the tunnel. Some perceive it to be in the skies above. I perceive it to be closer to you than your jugular vein.
Within every darkness, there is light. From putridity to purity, from tribulation to truth, from suffering to success, from lies to light. Look not beyond what your eyes perceive, listen not beyond what your ears believe, touch not beyond what your fingers receive. Truth lies in wait within.
"Verily, therein is indeed a reminder for him who has a heart or gives ear while he is heedful". (SuratQaf: 37)
Know that what is within you will confirm or deny what is before you. So if you hear something that causes you to waver in the heart, know it isn't good. And if you hear something that causes you to settle in the heart, know that it is righteousness.
"Righteousness is good character, and sin is that which wavers in your heart and which you do not want people to know about."
Uncertain, in apprehension, anxious, in dissension, chaotic; all these are what is felt by a heart clinging to the insanity of this world. Subject to the cycle of insanity, it is a death wish for destruction.
Conversely, holding onto the firmness within the heart is what lifts the veil. The veil that once was the cause of your demise and that closed you off from realizing the truth.
"I came to the Messenger of Allah (sas) and he said: "You have come to ask about righteousness ?" " Yes," I answered. He said: "Consult your heart. Righteousness is that about which the soul feels tranquil and the heart feels tranquil, and sin is what creates restlessness in the soul and moves to and fro in the breast, even though people give you their opinion (in your favour) and continue to do so."
It doesn't matter what people say, do, or how many people say or do it. Why do you do it when you know it's wrong? What does it matter if a million people are for killing, if you don't agree with it? And what does it matter if a million people tell you to drink that drink, if you don't want to?
It matters because of acceptance. Because you want to quell your immediate desires. Nevertheless, know that those immediate desires will take a turn for the worst. Feeling good at one moment, pulling you lower the next. Like a deceiver, your desires bring out the lies from the illusory "truth".
Therefore, believe in what is within. I don't mean believe what another person says and adapt it, or what seems real, or even yourself, but believe in the truth within and beyond. Otherwise, you will continue in this mundane, twisted, chaotic cycle until it's too late.
Whatever happens around you, heed not. People, majority of them, even if it's everybody EXCEPT YOU, may be doing the same thing over and over and over again, the same way the same time of day the same play, but stay strong and hold onto the handhold that never breaks!
I don't know where you stand, as a reader, but if you are not one to follow the crowd, one to feel left out, one to feel like the ugly duckling, a unique fish in the monochromatic sea, know that salvation is near!
Break out of the cycle and believe me, it will keep happening, until you grasp this trust. Trust in God; not your community, not your friends, not family, not even yourself. People will act insane, and you may be the one who is deemed as the insane one. You may be looked at as crazy. But sometimes, those crazy ones are the very catalysts that change the world, or better: mankind.
If you are open to this invitation, if you are willing to sacrifice yourself to this, if you are willing to humbly submit; then step forward. Don't be afraid. There is Someone with you, All Seeing, All Knowing.
Those last three quotes, by way are from the Noble Qu'ran and the last Prophet of the religion of Islam.
Hold onto the Trust of God and no matter what happens, you will NEVER waiver.
"There shall be no compulsion in [acceptance of] the religion. The right course has become clear from the wrong. So whoever disbelieves in Taghut and believes in Allah has grasped the most trustworthy handhold with no break in it. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing." (Surah Al Baqarah: 256)
I invite you to rise from the cycle of Insanity. I invite you to enlighten yourself from reality. I invite you to Islam that you may free yourself of the world's calamities. And never again will you fall into the problems of life, as you will find reward in this life---and the next.
"A believer is never strung by the same hole twice."
