Which endeavors to sever forever its adversaries:
You and me, it’s true you see, and for you to see that the blue of sea
And the green of tree is free from the need of sleep
Is to believe that there is something greater and worthy to weep
Due to fear and love and hope and trust in deep
Belief of the One who bestowed us the capacity to think
And perceive, conceive, see, wink, and blink
To dispel the eyes of unnecessary filth
That may pollute the mind with which reasoning was built
To derive between the right and guilt
Induced by the sins that is the hilt
Of the sword that shaves away the religion
And slices it with such accurate precision
And ease unlike any other decision
Because it’s so easy to relieve one in an intimate prison
Of the mind, of the heart, of the soul’s desires
That cloud one’s reasoning to within inquire
With what our true purpose is, what we are here to acquire
And where the pulpit is, what we are meant to inspire
To hearts that waver between desires to and fro
Not knowing what is higher and what is low
What is better and what is wetter in the waters of below
In a sea of darkness upon layers of darkness submerged in the unknown
How scary, how lost, how confusing the result
Like the example of one who closes his ears from the tumult
Of thunder and only moves at the light of a lightning bolt
But when it disappears at once he stops and his heart is occult
Except those who bear in mind, in thought, in heart
That there is a way to find, to have sought from the start
The strongest of handholds that will never break apart
Never letting go in determination to thwart
The calamities that may befall if we were to rely on ourselves
And the actions we would have to take into account if we fell
Oh, what a story we would have to tell
Not a pleasant one, nor one that would appease the flames of Hell
Thus are we at the Mercy of the Ultimate and the Greatest
And Heaven lies in wait for the persevering, the patient
Close to us when we are praying as our shoelace is
As is Hell, so fear a day when no longer will you be able to be complacent
Unless your deeds have brought you towards the everlasting abode
And well earned is it for taking the longer road
Lonely, painful, filled with woes
Although, not to you because you knew not even the prickling of your toe
Was in vain or pain as it was gain in the end
And whatever good that happened was meant to win
And whatever bad happened was a result of your sin
Something you never asked for, nor to sever ties with kin
But instead you kept trust in the Highest One
And remained steadfast to avoid the pleasures and fun
Of a world that is temporary and done
Sooner than the remnant light of the afternoon sun.
